Acceptable Use Policy

This policy explains what you may and may not build, export, or host using ScrollTell. It applies to everyone who uses the Service, and it supplements our Terms of Service.

1. Overview & Scope

ScrollTell (the “Service”) is a tool that lets you build landing pages and export them as code. This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes uses that are not permitted. It forms part of, and is incorporated into, our Terms of Service, and the capitalised terms used here have the meaning given in those Terms.

This AUP applies to everything you do with the Service: the content you author in the editor, the previews you generate, the assets you upload, and the code you export and host anywhere else. A page does not stop being subject to this AUP once you export it. It also applies to how you use your account and how you pay for credits.

This list is not exhaustive. We may update it at any time, and we interpret it in good faith to keep the Service safe, lawful, and trustworthy.

2. Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the pages you build, the content and assets you add, the code you export, and where and how you publish it. You represent and warrant that your use of the Service, and anything you create with it, complies with this AUP, our Terms, and all laws that apply to you and to the people who will see your pages.

ScrollTell does not review, endorse, or take ownership of what you create. Owning the tool does not make us responsible for how you use it, and using the tool does not shift your legal responsibility to us.

3. How We Enforce This Policy

We may investigate suspected violations and take any action we consider appropriate, in our sole discretion, including the steps set out in Section 6. In particular, we reserve the right to refuse to export a project, to remove content or assets that we host, to suspend or terminate your account, and to report unlawful activity to the authorities.

Honest limitation. Because you export code and host it on infrastructure we do not control, we generally cannot take down a page you have already exported and published elsewhere. Our enforcement therefore acts at the points we do control: your account, the export step, and any assets you upload to us. Removing a violating page from the public internet remains your responsibility and that of your hosting provider, and reporting it to the relevant authorities remains an option available to anyone.

4. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to create, export, host, promote, or facilitate any of the following.

4.1 Fraud & Deception

  • Phishing or credential-harvesting pages, and pages that imitate the sign-in, password-reset, checkout, account, or payment pages of any organisation you do not operate (including banks, exchanges, wallets, retailers, employers, government bodies, and email, social-media, streaming, or gaming accounts), or that capture one-time codes or multi-factor authentication credentials
  • Fake online stores, fake checkouts, or forms designed to capture, skim, or misuse payment-card or banking details
  • Pages built as the destination of a text-message, email, or QR-code lure that demand payment or personal details under a false pretext, such as unpaid-invoice, parcel-delivery or customs redelivery-fee, road-toll, tax, or fine notices, or fake document-signing requests
  • Technical-support scams, and fake system, virus, or security alerts designed to deceive or alarm the visitor
  • Pages that harvest identity documents, selfies, national-identification or social-security numbers, or other sensitive personal data under a false pretext, including fake identity-verification, know-your-customer, or account-reactivation flows used for identity theft
  • Advance-fee, inheritance, lottery, grant, prize, or “you have won” scams, and fake refund, loan, or debt-relief schemes, including “fund recovery” or “scam recovery” pages that charge people who were already defrauded an upfront fee to supposedly recover their losses
  • Fake charities or disaster-relief appeals, fake giveaways or sweepstakes, and fake job offers or schemes that recruit people to receive or transfer illicit funds (money-mule recruitment)
  • Investment fraud, including Ponzi and pyramid schemes, multi-level-marketing structures that operate as disguised pyramid schemes, high-yield investment programs, “get rich quick” funnels, and false or guaranteed-return offers (including forex, binary options, and “trading bot” claims)
  • Fraud that uses a fabricated romantic, personal, or friendly relationship to gain a victim’s trust and induce them to invest or transfer funds, including fake investment clubs and fake trading or account dashboards that display fabricated gains
  • Cryptocurrency, token, NFT, airdrop, or giveaway scams, wallet-drainer or malicious “connect wallet” pages, and fraudulent token presales or pump-and-dump promotions designed to steal digital assets or manipulate a market
  • Fake escrow, “buyer protection”, or marketplace-intermediary pages, and fraudulent rental, deposit, vehicle-sale, ticket, or booking pages that collect payments for goods, property, or services the operator cannot or will not provide
  • “Free trial”, low-cost, or introductory offers that conceal recurring charges, auto-renewals, or later price increases, subscriptions that are deliberately difficult to cancel, and other negative-option or hidden recurring-billing arrangements
  • Fake surveys, quizzes, petitions, prize-eligibility, or “compensation check” forms whose real purpose is to harvest personal information for spam, resale, identity theft, or downstream fraud
  • Deceptive presentation designed to mislead visitors, including fabricated testimonials, reviews, social proof, ratings, statistics, or user counts; false or unearned press mentions, “as seen on” logos, or trust, security, or award badges; fabricated celebrity or public-figure endorsements; false countdowns or scarcity; fabricated business identities or team members; and bait-and-switch offers or hidden material terms

4.2 Illegal, Regulated & Restricted Goods and Services

Note: you are welcome to build a marketing page for a lawful, legitimate business in a regulated field (for example a licensed clinic, a law firm, or a bank). What is prohibited is using ScrollTell to sell or facilitate the following, or to operate without the licences and controls the law requires. Some categories below are prohibited outright, regardless of any licence, age gate, or local legality (in particular gambling, alcohol, and tobacco or nicotine); these reflect our own risk and brand choices and are stricter than the law may require.

  • Weapons, firearms, ammunition, ghost guns, explosives, or instructions for making weapons or causing mass harm
  • Illegal drugs, controlled substances, and grey-market performance or research chemicals (for example steroids, SARMs, peptides, or novel psychoactive substances)
  • Gambling of any kind, including casinos, betting, sportsbooks, poker, lotteries, and online or real-money gambling, together with affiliate, promotional, or bonus-code pages that drive traffic to them. This applies even where the operator is licensed and the activity is legal in the relevant jurisdiction
  • Unlicensed provision of regulated services, including financial, securities, money-services, or crypto activity; legal, immigration, tax, or accounting advice that constitutes the unauthorised practice of a profession; and medical, pharmacy, or tele-health services or fake cures
  • Alcohol, tobacco, vaping, nicotine, and similar age-restricted vice products, including the businesses that make, sell, distribute, or promote them (for example breweries, wineries, distilleries, bars, and vape or tobacco shops). This applies regardless of licensing or age verification
  • Counterfeit, stolen, or smuggled goods or data, wildlife or cultural-heritage contraband, and any goods or services whose sale is unlawful in the applicable jurisdiction
  • Academic fraud, including essay mills, contract cheating, exam-question dumps, and diploma or licence mills
  • Any activity that evades sanctions or export controls, or that serves a sanctioned person, entity, or country

4.3 Intellectual Property & Impersonation

  • Infringing the copyright, trademark, or other rights of others, including using images, video, audio, fonts, logos, or other assets that you do not own or are not licensed to use
  • Removing, altering, or obscuring copyright notices, watermarks, or attribution
  • Impersonating any person, company, brand, charity, employer, or government agency or official, including typosquatting and look-alike pages, and including any attempt to impersonate ScrollTell, our payment provider, or their checkout
  • Deepfakes, face-swaps, or use of a person’s name, image, voice, or likeness without their permission

4.4 Harm, Safety & Protected Groups

  • Content that promotes, incites, or celebrates violence, terrorism, or extremism, that recruits or raises funds for such groups, or that glorifies or memorialises perpetrators of mass violence
  • Content that promotes hatred, harassment, or discrimination against people or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic
  • Doxxing or the non-consensual publication of another person’s private information, coordinated harassment or brigading, and the promotion or sale of stalkerware or covert surveillance
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery, revenge pornography, and sextortion
  • Pornographic or sexually explicit material, and adult services or content of a sexual nature, in any form. This is a full prohibition and does not depend on age verification
  • Content that promotes self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders, or that provides dangerous health misinformation likely to cause physical harm
  • Prostitution, escort, or commercial-sexual-services solicitation, and any content that facilitates human trafficking, forced labour, or smuggling
  • Graphic real-world violence or gore intended to shock or terrorise, and content that promotes cruelty to animals

4.5 Technical & Security Abuse

  • Distributing malware, spyware, ransomware, or exploit kits, or luring visitors into downloading or running harmful code
  • Embedding malicious scripts, cryptominers, or command-and-control or data-exfiltration logic, or using dangerous link schemes (for example javascript: or executable data: links)
  • Deceptive redirects, cloaking, open redirects, clickjacking overlays, and search-spam or doorway pages
  • Using the exporter to mass-produce disposable pages for phishing, spam, or other abuse, or otherwise using automation to abuse the Service
  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access to, interfere with, disrupt, probe, or reverse engineer the Service, our systems, or other users’ accounts or data
  • Uploading unlawful, infringing, or malicious files to our asset storage, or hotlinking our storage to serve such files

4.6 Platform & Payment Abuse

  • Paying for credits with stolen, unauthorised, or fraudulent payment methods, or engaging in card testing
  • Chargeback abuse, or buying, consuming, and then reversing credits to obtain value without paying
  • Creating multiple accounts to evade limits, bans, or this AUP, and any form of account farming
  • Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing the Service itself, or taking our built-in templates, patterns, or starter designs and redistributing or selling them on their own, as templates, themes, or a starter kit for other people to build their own pages from, without our authorisation. This does not limit the finished pages you build with the Service: the code you export is yours to use, host, and deliver for your own or your clients’ projects
  • Using pages built with the Service to funnel visitors to any of the activities prohibited above, or to activities that would breach our payment provider’s rules

4.7 General Prohibition

Beyond the specific items above, you may not use the Service for anything that is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or intended to obtain money, payment credentials, or personal or financial data under false pretences, or that in our reasonable judgment is high-risk, harmful, or likely to expose ScrollTell, our payment provider, or our users to liability or reputational harm.

5. Minors & Child Safety (Zero Tolerance)

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”) and any sexual content involving, depicting, or appearing to depict a minor. You may not create, upload, export, host, or link to such content using the Service under any circumstances.

You also may not use the Service to groom, exploit, or endanger minors, to collect data from children in violation of applicable law, or to target deceptive or harmful content at minors.

Where we detect CSAM, we will immediately terminate the account, preserve the relevant content and records as required by law, and report it to the appropriate authorities (including, where applicable, the U.S. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and analogous bodies). These steps are mandatory and are not subject to our discretion.

6. Consequences of Violations

We may take any of the following actions, in any order and in our sole discretion, depending on the severity, context, and history of a violation:

  • Warning. We may notify you of the offending content and require you to correct it within a stated time before you continue.
  • Content or asset removal. We may remove or disable assets you have uploaded to us, revoke preview or share links, and block export of the offending project until it is remediated.
  • Suspension. We may suspend your account, blocking new exports and AI actions and locking your projects.
  • Termination. We may terminate your account and delete or disable your projects and assets on our systems.
  • Forfeiture of credits. If we terminate your account for a violation, or if we detect payment or entitlement abuse, any remaining prepaid credits may be forfeited without refund. Credits are a consumable entitlement, not money and not stored value, as described in our Refund Policy and Terms.
  • Ban and refusal of service. We may block re-registration, apply rate or velocity limits, and refuse to provide the Service to you in the future.
  • Reporting. We may preserve evidence and report unlawful activity to law enforcement and other authorities, and we will honour valid legal notices from rights holders and affected parties.

These remedies are in addition to any other rights we have under the Terms or at law. Nothing in this AUP limits our ability to act immediately where we consider it necessary to prevent harm.

Appeals. If you believe we have acted against your account, content, or credits by mistake, you may contact us at [email protected] to ask us to review the decision, and we will consider good-faith appeals. We may keep protective measures in place while we review. Actions required by law, in particular our response to child sexual abuse material under Section 5, are final and not subject to appeal.

7. Reporting Abuse

If you believe a page, project, or account is violating this policy, or if you are a rights holder or affected party with a copyright, trademark, impersonation, or safety complaint, please contact us at [email protected] with enough detail for us to locate and assess the content. 8. Our Payment Provider

Payments for ScrollTell credits are processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle. Your use of the Service, and the pages you create, must not cause us to breach Paddle’s acceptable use rules or create undue payment risk. Where the output you produce (for example crypto or pharmaceutical content) could create association or compliance risk for our payment relationship, we may restrict it even if it is otherwise lawful.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time to address new risks or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
